Role: Art Director & Graphic Designer | Tools: Illustrator & Photoshop | Focus: Rebranding & Visual Identity
The Problem
Sixth Street Vet's original logo had the "friendly hometown feel," but it lacked individuality and felt outdated. The logo felt too generic and had no personal connection to the brand or its community.
The Goal
This project had two main goals. First was to create a special 10 year anniversary version of their current logo. The second was to refresh the Sixth Street logo entirely to use after the anniversary celebration had concluded. The new logo needed to represent the brand's value of "modern veterinary medicine with that friendly hometown feel," while also being modern, adaptive, and personal.
The Process
After meeting with the client to discuss their vision, it was decided that rather than presenting new concepts, they wanted to evolve their old logo into something new. Rather than doing the normal brainstorming and sketching phase, I deconstructed the original logo and decided what was important to keep brand recognition intact.
The Concepts
I presented Sixth Street Vet with two options. One stayed true to their original, but had subtle changes that made the logo feel more purposeful. The other was a true evolution of their original that pulled what was working, removed what didn't, and overall felt more uniquely them.
The Result
After being presented with both the subtle update and the true evolution, the client decided to move forward with the latter without any revisions. I delivered the logo deck with a variety of color ways and with the addition of the 10th anniversary version of the original. With these updates, the visual identity of Sixth Street now aligned with their value of "modern veterinary medicine with that friendly hometown feel."
